GP Registrars
We offer GPT1 Basic term (first six months of GP training), GPT2 Advanced term (second six months of GP training), GPT3 Subsequent term (second year of GP training) and ES = Special / Extended Skills post.
A wide variety of trauma skills are taught during this placement. Registrars are supervised in minor surgery, performing and interpreting X-rays, fracture management and hospital in-patient care. Our registrars can access extended skills training through the Mt Hotham Ski Resort.
We are accredited with both ACRRM and RACGP and all of our registrars have passed their fellowship exams.
Medical Students
We currently have year-round capacity to accept 3rd-year medical students from the Melbourne University MD course for 6 week placements.
Students gain experience in all aspects of Rural Medicine including: Trauma, Emergency Care, Anaesthetics, Surgery and Endoscopy.
We can occasionally accept students from other universities on a case by case basis, however, priority is given to Australian students on official university electives. We no longer offer places to John Flynn students.
